Satisfy your inner daredevil with Tandem Paragliding

Paragliding is the adrenaline sport on La Palma. They have excellent weather, good thermal and easy take off and landing spots. You’ll be lounging on the beach, half asleep and all of a sudden to your left a paraglider lands. Its fun to watch, but even more fun to do!

How I discovered Qatar

I needed a flight from Barcelona, Spain to Mumbai (Bombay), India and Qatar Airlines came up with a cheap flight, connecting in Doha. I have never heard of Qatar or Doha. When I mentioned Qatar to my friends and family, I would get responses like; oh ya, Qatar. How does everyone know about Qatar but me! Qatar Airlines reservation system let me book a multi-trip destination. So I’ll spend 5 days in Doha, then off to Mumbai. Read more »

Camping in the White Desert

I met Rosi at the Hostel in Bahariya Oasis. We booked a camping trip over night in the desert. Later in the day Jude arrived at the hostel. We all hit it off and wanted her to join us, so we talked to the staff. She knew her prices and wasn’t going to pay too much, she was bargaining for a good deal.

A trip to Bahariya Desert Oasis

Imagine crossing a desert, with tan sand as far as the eye can see. No life, no civilization, no plants, no water, then arriving at an Oasis. Exotic women in flowing silk gowns, smiling eyes peering out at you, collecting water from softly flowing waterfalls. Children splashing in small lakes and men relaxing under palm trees wooing the women as they walk by.

The Great Giza Pyramids

The driver dropped me off in a parking lot near the pyramids. He suggested I take a camel ride. He was very kind about it and said I didn’t have to and assured me I could decline and simply walk around to the entrance. I knew I wanted a camel ride, but I heard the prices are cheaper inside. I stopped at the stables anyway and enquired about length of rides and prices. This gave me up to date information to work with. I walked inside where a rush of touts are there to meet you. I was prepared, and knew what to expect. I was ready to handle the hassle.
